AME Licence extensions amid the COVID-19 pandemic

Mar 31, 2020

Transport Canada has granted an exemption for Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) licences expiring between March 1, 2020, and August 31, 2020.

“During the exemption period, TCCA will continue to accept and process AME licence renewals but at a reduced capacity. There may be delays in processing the requested service and other delays due to COVID-19 related circumstances. TCCA will not be issuing interim paper licences as expired licences will be considered valid during the exemption period. TCCA will continue to print the credit card style AME licence during this time. However we do foresee delays in printing licences due to lack of personnel, and in the delivering of licences due to possible Canada Post delays”
