Commercial Pilot – Flight Training

Presented to a student in British Columbia to assist in completing their Commercial Pilot’s license.  The student will have shown an interest in Aviation and will have demonstrated a commitment to complete Commercial Pilot training.  The application for the Scholarship is to be supported in writing by a PCTIA accredited or registered flight training school in British Columbia.

Attach a transcript of marks (certified copy acceptable).

Basic Nominating Criteria:

  •  For Commercial Pilot Licence training only.
  • Applicant to include letter of recommendation from a PCTIA accredited or registered flight school advising on candidate’s potential to complete the program.
  • Student will be recommended by a BCAC Member (either the flight school or an individual)
  • Student must show some commitment to training and finishing, such as showing a dedicated interest in aviation, a commitment to complete the program, and leadership qualities fitting a future commercial pilot.

Student must provide a written narrative outlining scholastic / personal achievements / goals, include need/reasoning for financial assistance, and signed by the nominator as well.

Other letters of recommendation from personal contacts would also be of benefit when evaluating the nomination.

Note:

  • The nominee MUST BE A BCAC MEMBER.  Student membership are free.
  • Applications must be received no later than May 31.  The BCAC Awards committee will review applications and make recommendations for approval by the BCAC Board.  Awards will be presented at the annual Silver Wings Awards Gala.
  • Nominator must attach a signed, detailed narrative summary of the achievements and qualifications of the nominee for the award (200 – 400 words).
  • Provide as much information as you can so the selection committee is better able to render its final decision. The better your presentation, the better opportunity your nominee will have.
  • A statement from the nominee should also be included indicating why he/she should receive the award and outlining scholastic / personal achievements / goals, need reasoning for financial assistance, and must this signed by nominator as well.
  • Bursary to be paid to the Bursary Recipient.
