Every Picture Tells a Story
How this contest works
Whether you have photo albums and shoeboxes full of aviation pictures, or you have a spanking new digital camera, you will be able to help celebrate 75 years of aviation in BC through the BCAC Photo Contest!
The contest takes place through a Facebook page (http://Facebook.com/BCAC1938), but don’t worry; you don’t need a Facebook account to enter your photos. Simply click on the “Photo Contest” link, and follow the instructions to upload pictures and stories that represent the past 75 years of aviation in BC. The site will begin to accept submissions at start of day February 23.
While electronic photographs posted directly to the Facebook page are preferable, prints may be forwarded to:

Please include a self-addressed, stamped return envelope and once we have scanned your old photographs and popped them up on the Facebook page, we will make every attempt to return your pictures to you.
You can also submit your photos through Twitter and Instagram by using the hashtag #BCACis75.
Also, please ensure that you are legally entitled to share this photograph and that you have the permission or consent of readily identified people in your photographs.
The contest and the images collected will be much more interesting if you can let us know: who took the photo, when was it taken, where was it taken, and why it is significant. We are pretty sure that your picture will tell a story, and we’d love to hear it.
Photographers and observers all have the opportunity to participate in the photo contest by voting on favorite photos and stories. Just go to the Facebook page often and vote on your favorites. Votes will be tallied at the end of the contest (August 15, 2013) and the three photos with the most votes will earn People’s Choice awards. The top People’s Choice award is 2 free tickets to the Silver Wings Banquet on October 30!
What kinds of pictures would qualify? Well, here are a few ideas to get you started, but there are tons more: aviation sites, old airports, old airplanes, maintenance operations, military operations, airlines, cargo operations, ramp operations, bush operations, firefighting, air shows, barnstormers, uniforms, hangars, buildings, reservation offices, old Minoru park, museums, models, co-workers (with permission), landmarks, milestones, special events….we are looking forward to seeing your pictures and celebrating your contribution to aviation history in BC.
