BCAC has become a partner with Hope Air, whose mission is:
The aviation community in BC shows where its heart is by its support for Hope Air. Out of almost 6,100 flights provided nation-wide in 2012 by Hope Air, 4,219 took place in BC. It’s an inspiring story, both for the good that is done for people and communities in BC, and for the way our industry responds to real need.

“Thank you for providing my daughter, Rebecca, and I with a flight to Vancouver for her hospital visit! Rebecca has Cystic Fibrosis and requires regular visits to monitor her health. Without this flight, Rebecca and I would have had to drive 8 hours to Vancouver. Thank you so much for making this flight possible, and making our trip much easier”. – Sherri, Rebecca’s mom
Amanda is very honest about what her family would have done if they had not been able to get their beautiful one-year-old daughter Jayden to a plastic surgeon to repair a growth on her top lip: “We probably wouldn’t have gone because I wouldn’t be able to buy a plane ticket since money is very tight.” Driving wasn’t an option, since Jayden and her mom live more than 9 hours from the specialist she needed to see. For the cost of the plane ticket alone, Jayden might have had to endure the growth, and complications from it, for the rest of her life.
“Olivia was diagnosed with hip dysplasia at three months. The hip dysplasia was caused by Central Core Myopathy, a neuromuscular disease causing low muscle tone. Without Hope Air’s support, Olivia and I would not have been able to afford the travel for her to see her Orthopaedic surgeon as well as her visits to the Neuromuscular Unit at BC Children’s Hospital. Olivia’s hips are currently in place and hopefully she will be free of her brace in May! The past 14 months have been an emotional roller coaster for us! Hope Air helped make all our days a little brighter.” – Olivia’s mom, Alyson
“Knowing that Hope Air would book and financially provide for my daughter and I to fly to and from Prince George for her treatment eased a huge burden and assisted me in being able to focus my energy on my daughter and not on another financial burden.” – Karissa, Terrace, BC |
