Give Hope Wings Appeal

My name is Alexis and I am one of the Volunteer Flight Crew Members participating in the Give Hope Wings – Northwest Expedition.

I made the most important promise of my life and I need your help. Last year my father fought a 14-month battle with terminal brain cancer. I witnessed the heartbreaking stories of families travelling for days for a lifesaving MRI or to see a specialist. I need your help to raise enough money for 100 Hope Air flights for these families. My Dad was a pilot and he inspired me. Before my Dad passed, I made a promise to him that I would strive to be a daughter and pilot that would make him proud.

Give Hope Wings, a 12,000 km flight that will take 3 weeks, combines my passion for aviation with my desire to improve the lives of other families faced with medical hardships. But I leave on Friday and I’m only part way to my goal. Please help me reach my goal of 100 flights. Donations and messages can be made on my fundraising page here: Donate to Help (Photo: Submitted)

Hope Air – Medical Travel Assistance for Canadians

Nine year old Joseph and his mom Marianne live in a remote community on Vancouver Island, a two hour drive from the closest bus station and a nine hour journey from BC Children’s Hospital. Instead, thanks to Hope Air, they are able to take a 45 minute flight. Read their story: https://bit.ly/2HKGZPj  (Photo: Hope Air Facebook)
