Vertical Magazine, the largest and most widely-read publication dedicated to the helicopter industry, is delighted to reveal that Jeremy Koreski has been voted the winner of the 2019 Vertical Photo Contest.

Vertical‘s annual Photo Contest celebrates the very best in rotary-wing photography, drawing entries from the most talented professional and amateur aviation photographers from around the world. There were over 1,100 entries submitted for this year’s edition, capturing vertical flight from every conceivable angle and in some of the most spectacular locations on Earth.

The full contest results can be seen in the newly-released December 2019/January 2020 issue of Vertical, which proudly features Koreski’s winning photo on the front cover. And, as the Grand Prize winner, Koreski has won $1,000.

Koreski’s photo shows an Airbus H125, operated by West Coast Helicopters, during a mountain bike adventure for Nimmo Bay Resort in British Columbia. Koreski beautifully captured the aircraft silhouetted against the island-dotted valley behind it, which had become bathed in a golden light.

“We continue to be blown away by the quality of the entries for our annual Photo Contest, and it always makes choosing a winner extremely difficult,” said Vertical publisher and owner Mike Reyno. “With that in mind, all the prize winners deserve to be extremely proud of their accomplishment. Congratulations to them, and thanks, as always, to everyone who took part.”

The competition had three categories for entries: Beauty, Helicopters at Work, and Military. The category winners were Simon Iglesias (Beauty), Richard Chapuis (Helicopters at Work), and Roberto Garcia (Military). They have each won $750 for their winning photos.

The runners up were Mark Mennie (second place, Beauty), John Eggert (third place, Beauty), Michal Fanta (second place, Helicopters at Work), Lionel Masbou (third place, Helicopters at Work), Kris Christiaens (second place, Military), and Ray U (third place, Military). The second-place winners have each won $500, while the third-place winners take home $250.

The 2019 Vertical Photo Contest was sponsored by Bell, Airbus Helicopters, Metro Aviation, and Precision Heliparts Canada PHP.
