Aviation Council Welcomes New Board

May 24, 2009

Vancouver, BC – The Board of Directors of the BC Aviation Council (BCAC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mike Matthews as Chair of the Council and the appointment of six new Board members.

“The Council will continue its 71 year tradition of promoting and encouraging the development and advancement of aviation and aerospace in BC,” stated Mr. Matthews. “One of the strengths of BCAC has been its support of education and training of human resources to meet the skill requirements of the industry. We will be expanding our efforts to continue this support. For members, we will be focusing our efforts on providing information services through the development of a website and providing networking opportunities for members to get together professionally and socially”, added Mr. Matthews.

“I would like to acknowledge and thank the outgoing Board of Directors for their work and commitment to the organization. I would also like to thank past board member Tony Gugliotto of YVR for agreeing to stay on as an ex-officio member to assist during this transition.”

The British Columbia Aviation Council is a charitable society established under the Societies Act.
