Applications for 2021 Mentorship Program EXTENDED to August 31, 2021

 

Announcing the 2021 BCAC Mentorship Program!

BCAC’s Youth Engagement Committee announces the 2021 BCAC Mentorship Program, which will begin in early autumn and run for a six-month period. To participate in the program as a Mentor or Mentee, an online application with a current resume and two references must be submitted:

Timeline details:

Application window opens: July 20, 2021
Application window closes (EXTENDED): Aug 31, 2021

Candidates will be notified: Early September

Mentorship Program begins: Late September – Early October

Eligibility guidelines to participate in BCAC’s Mentorship Program are outlined below.

 

Candidates for the role of Mentee in the 2021 BCAC Mentorship Program should meet the following requirements:

1. Be a current BCAC member.*

2. Reside within the province of British Columbia.

3. Be at least 18 years of age.

4. Be enrolled in college, recently graduated from college, changing careers to pursue aviation, or new to aviation.

5. Be prepared and willing to make a six-month commitment to the program, which will include a minimum of 12 mentoring hours.

6. Be willing to co-create a meaningful mentorship experience with their mentor.

7. Completed application form including current resume/CV.

Candidates for the role of Mentor in the 2021 BCAC Mentorship Program should meet the following requirements:

1. Be established in a career within the aviation industry.

2. Reside within the province of British Columbia.

3. Be prepared and willing to make a six-month commitment to the program, which will include a minimum of 12 mentoring hours.

4. Be willing to co-create a meaningful mentorship experience with their mentee.

5. Completed application form including current resume/CV.

Note: Previous experience as a mentor is not required to participate in the program but would be greatly beneficial.

This Mentorship Program has been created to support British Columbia’s Youth Aviation Community through the challenges of COVID-19 and post-COVID-19 and is free of charge to participate. Those not accepted into the program this year due to limited spacing will be waitlisted and given priority in 2022.
