If you are looking for ways to be more involved in the aviation industry and give back, consider joining one of our BCAC committees. We currently have a few spots open on the following committees. If you are interested in joining one of the following committees, please contact us and tell us why you would like to get involved.
Air Operators Committee
The Air Operators Committee is going through a change this year and is looking to plan an Air Operators Workshop during ADSE at the Abbotsford Airshow. If you are interested in being part of this, please contact us today at cmckibbon@bcaviationcouncil.org
This committee meets once every few month with a possibility of this increasing to once per month. This committee is generally filled by Air Operators and students.
Communications Committee
The BCAC Communications Committee is a busy committee that works alongside all other BCAC committees and the Board to establish plans and strategies for the year. If you have a background in communications or writing, then this may be the place for you. This committee often works to write pieces for our BCAC website as well as other news outlets throughout the province. The Communications Committee is also focused on seeing our social media channels succeed.
The Communications Committee generally meets once per month, usually in Richmond. Teleconference capabilities are available.

If you are familiar with the BC Aviation Council, you likely have heard of the Silver Wings Awards. This is BCAC’s premiere event that is hosted annually in the fall where scholarship and award recipients are honoured. The Silver Wings Awards is a key event for the aviation industry and draws close to 300 people.
For 2017 this committee is expanding and will also be planning several other events throughout the year including pub nights and membership dinners with keynote speakers.
This committee meets once per month, often over teleconference or in person downtown Vancouver.
