Don’t miss CAMC’s Event of the Year!
The 19th CAMC Forum & AGM in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia
September 29 – October 1, 2010
Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre Hotel
The 19th Forum & AGM will focus on the new reality, and will address the questions: What is the current state of the economy? What will recovery look like? Will it be business as usual? Is the old model broken? What new skills are needed? How will we train tomorrow’s workers? The Forum’s dynamic program of keynote speakers, panel discussions and workshops will all address this subject from different angles.
CAMC is also pleased to announce that this year’s Forum will have a partner in the Western Aerospace Alliance (WAA). In addition to its participation in Forum events, the WAA will be holding its own AGM, workshops and panel discussions.

Pre-Forum Workshops
CAMC has arranged four one-day pre-Forum workshops on Wednesday, September 29.
Add a professional development workshop to your Forum registration for a more educational experience. For workshop locations, times and details, and to register by August 31, 2010, please refer to the CAMC Forum web page by clicking here
1) Aircraft de/anti-Icing
Facilitated by Walter Randa, President, Leading Edge De-icing Specialists Ltd.
Leading Edge is dedicated to promoting the clean aircraft concept within the aviation industry. It provides the best and most comprehensive Ground Icing Safety Training to flight crews and aircraft de/anti-icing service providers. Its Fly Clean, Fly Safe program emphasizes standardized aircraft de/anti-icing methods and procedures that are essential for maintaining safe operations.
Leading Edge offers
– standardized aircraft de/anti-icing methods
– follow-up support (toll-free number)
– the Business Aircraft Deicing Guide
– a program that is compliant with SAE, FAA and Transport Canada requirements
Workshop fee includes course materials, written exam and certificate.
2) Human Performance in Aviation Maintenance (HPIAM)
Need Recurrent Human Factors Certification?
Join other industry representatives attending CAMC’s one-day Recurrent Human Factors (HPIAM) Training course. Completing the course will ensure you maintain your Human Factors certification. CAMC’s course is informative, interactive and 100% geared to the aviation industry. It meets the highest standards of excellence for the aviation and aerospace industry, and exceeds Transport Canada requirements for recurrent training, by covering all key components, such as “the Dirty Dozen.”
A CAMC Certificate of Attestation will be awarded to all participants who successfully complete the course.
3) Risk Management for SMS
Facilitated by Stuart Doyle, Training Coordinator, SureSafe Management Solutions Ltd.
“A Safety Management System is an explicit, comprehensive and proactive process for managing risks.” (Transport Canada Civil Aviation, Advisory Circular 107-001 Issue 1, paragraph 3.2 [1], 2008-01-01.) Feedback from Industry and Transport Canada Inspectors suggests that there is a distinct lack of knowledge and understanding of the Risk Management component of SMS.
This one-day, risk-management workshop of theoretical and practical work, offers participants a solid understanding of the concepts of hazard and risk, and why the consequences rather than the source should be assessed. Participants will also explore ways to mitigate risk, will build their own Hazard Registry and Safety Risk Profile, and learn how to use this technique to strengthen their Safety Reporting System and Quality Assurance Program.
Participants will receive course materials and a certificate of attendance.
4) HR and Training Solutions for Small Airports
Facilitated by David Berrington, Director, Strategic and Corporate Services, InterVISTAS Consulting Group
As a service to Airport Operators, and in partnership with the British Columbia Aviation Council (BCAC) and InterVISTAS Consulting, CAMC is facilitating a workshop to present the findings of the recently completed study of airport occupations. The report addresses retention, recruitment and training of airport employees.
Attendance at this workshop is free of charge with Forum registration but, as space is limited, please indicate your interest in attending by filling in the corresponding Pre-Forum Workshop & Forum space on the registration form.
