Long Beach Airport is changing its name. Why? Because it’s confusing.
The question is, what should its new name be?
Personally? We’d go with Tofino/Wickaninnish Regional Airport. Nothing confusing about that. Though we wouldn’t be devastated if it was changed to Tofino/Ucluelet Regional Airport. The only problem with either one is managing to fit it all on a luggage tag.
Other recommendations from the Long Beach Airport Advisory Committee include the rather tepid Tofino Regional Airport and the perhaps overly lofty Tofino/Pacific Rim Regional Airport.
