What’s on your travel bucket list?
Nanaimo Airport is teaming with renowned travel expert Claire Newell to help central Vancouver Islanders fulfill their vacation dreams — or just get exciting ideas for a winter getaway.
Newell, host of Travel Best Bets, headlines the Bucket List Travel Show on Friday, Oct. 28 at The Port Theatre. The event is sponsored by Nanaimo Airport and Nanaimo News Bulletin. Newell will share hot trends for bucket list trips to the 3 “I”s: Italy, Ireland, Iceland. The media personality and best-selling author of Travel Best Bets – An Insider’s Guide to Taking Your Best Trips ever, will cover some other underrated destinations as well.
And Newell will share some valuable insights and tips such as travel trends for this winter and next summer, hot deals, and helpful travel etiquette.
An expert on the travel industry, Newell has for 23 years appeared five times per week on Global BC TV. She’s also been a regular guest on Global TV’s national The Morning Show, CKNW Radio, NBC’s The Today Show, Fox & Friends, CNN, and other programs.
Visitors to the Bucket List Travel Show will have plenty of other sources of information to consult. The show features travel-related exhibitors who can assist with planning trips, from providing packing tips to managing vacation details.
The exhibitors include Nanaimo Airport, which is offering a complementary travel bucket list planning guide. Visitors to its booth will also receive a free three-day airport parking pass, worth $30.
The show runs at the Port Theatre from 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 28. Door prizes and some special treats to help visitors get in the travel mood will be handed out. Tickets cost $30, available at PortTheatre.com.
Newell, a Vancouver resident who speaks regularly at travel events in the U.S. and Canada, takes to the stage at 7 p.m.
